The Dual Cam is a combo-cam model with untethered still camera features
in addition to its webcam features: It has a snapshot program for

captures video clips and attaches them to e-mails; Live Monitor; a
security-camera package that triggers when it detects motion and has
various frame and clip grabbing options, can sound alarms, and can
automatically send an e-mail as well; Face Factory, a
package which lets you take portrait and profile pictures of yourself,
mark things like nose and ears and hair, and then to a 3D head that you
can distort in amusing ways; Ulead 360, a panorama stitching
package that lets you take an arc or circle of overlapping pictures and

PhotoPC 700 (CP-600 in Japan) - 1998. 1/3-inch
1280 x 960 pixel CCD. ISO 60/120. 2X zoom f/2.8 lens.
Shutter 1/8 to 1/1500 second. This camera is normally shown as
black
with a 1280 x 960 pixel CCD, however, one French site shows the camera
in gray and silver with a 1024 x 768 pixel CCD and 36mm lens (similar
to
the 1997 PhotoPC600). The complete kit in unused condition shown
on the right is more proof that it pays to check eBay
frequently. Although still new in the box, it was found on
Bay in April of 2019 more than twenty years after its introduction to
the marketplace. We believe we were the first digital camera
history web site to provide a photo and information concerning this
camera.

FINET TECHNOLOGY DSC-F1 - 1998. The DSC-F1 was made in China, but the manual is in Japanese, obviously for sale in Japan. The Japanese wording over the DSC-FI model number on the front cover of the manual above translates to "Digital Still Camera." Apparently, there was no Japanese brand name for the camera. Unfortunately, DSC-F1 is also a model number for a Sony camera and that is the only camera that shows up when doing a google search for a DSC-F1. As a result, the only information we can find on this camera is the manufacturer and specs from the manual. Resolution 640 x 480 pixels. Lens 4.3mm f/5.6. Shutter 1/50 to 1/8000 second. Internal memory only. 42 photos in Normal Mode, 21 in Fine Mode. Finet Technology Co. Limited was dissolved on 23 June 2007. This sample was purchased in new condition with the original box and all its contents from a collector in Austria. The same collector has the pink DSC-F1 shown above, but the camera only. The one we now have complete in the original box may be the only such Finet DSC-F1 still in existence. We previously had never seen or knew of this particular camera. It has never appeared on U.S. eBay until now (Feb 2020). We believe we were the first digital camera history web site to provide a photo and information concerning this camera.

FISHER FVD-V1 / SANYO VPC-G200 (DCS-V1 in Japan) - 1998. Rebadged
Sanyo sold in the U.S. with internal mechanisms of the 1997 VPC-G200
and the front from the Sanyo VPC-Z380 which did not come out until
1999. 1/3-inch 640 x 480 pixel CCD.
ISO 80. 37mm autofocus f/2.8 lens. Shutter 1/4 to 1/10,000
second. An interesting story about this camera and eBay non-rule
rules. We purchased this camerra off eBay several years ago, at
least we thought we did. After paying for the camera through
PayPal and having the purchase accepted by the seller, we were
contacted several days later by the seller stating that they had
changed their mind (possibly a higher offer from off eBay?) and were
refunding our purchase payment. We
objected, stating that once the purchase was complete the item was now
ours and we were unwilling to reverse the sale. The seller did
not relent so we contacted eBay. Their answer was that they could
do nothing. Really? They could not threaten to drop the
seller from eBay if the seller did not follow commercial law and eBay
rules? Really? When you make a bid on an item eBay
immediately informs you that you have entered into a legal contract and
must purchase the item if your bid is the highest. Obviously,
they do not enforce this rule when it comes to sellers. The moral
of the story is, don't depend on
eBay to protect your rights as a buyer or you may be sorely
disappointed. We later did purchase a Fisher FVD-V1 from an eBay dealer who honored their contract.

pixel CCD. ISO 100. Autofocus 35mm lens. Shutter 1/30
to 1/10,000 second.
This camera came with the SmartDisk Smart Media floppy disk adapter
manufactured by SmartDisk Corporation as a year 2000 version of their
FlashPath adapters that allow reading of Smart Media cards via the
adapter when inserted into a floppy disk drive. The manual states
the adapter is compatible with Windows 95/98/2000. It
is similar in design to the Sony Memory Stick adapter of 1998/9 and the
Olympus MAFP-1U/1E of 1997. The Sony adapter was designed
to increase the photo storage capacity of floppies by inserting a Sony
Memory Stick into the adapter and then into a camera (Sony
Mavica). The manual for the SmartDisk provides information for
reading a Smart Media card via a floppy disk drive, but does not
mention whether or not it could store photos when inserted into Sony
floppy disk camera such as the MVC-FD91, etc.
